Biodiversity Net Gain

Archer Ecology is experienced and trained in completing BNG assessments which involve the following:

    • A review (or completion) of supporting ecology survey works
    • Applying the Statutory Metrics Biodiversity Calculation Tool
    • Reviewing post-works changes to biodiversity units
    • Recommending actions for achieving a minimum of 10% biodiversity net gain
    • Producing supporting Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMP), where required.

All survey works, biodiversity calculations and reporting are undertaken by qualified ecologists and in line with industry standard guidance, including guidance produced by CIRIA, CIEEM and Natural England.

We have an excellent reputation for supplying robust reports to support planning applications and have worked with many Local Planning Authorities both locally and nationally.

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments are required to ensure that development projects result in positive biodiversity outcomes post-works.

BNG is requested by Local Planning Authorities and is mandatory for many types of development projects in line with the Environment Act (2021).
